An interesting and unusual site in the Pyrenees-Orientales: Île de la Lagune hotel

vue-mer-restaurant-st-cyprien

A destination that’s one-of-a-kind

More than just a 5-star hotel, more than just a project, Île de la Lagune is the result of an aesthetic ideal and personal ambition. The dream? To create a unique site in the Pyrenees-Orientales region that combines good taste with understated elegance, a well-kept secret that offers an experience rather than just a stay, a waking dream instead of holiday.

An atypical hotel: daring to be different

It was with this goal in mind that Alicia and Xavier Lormand designed their hotel. In partnership with designer Kristian Gavoille and a close-knit team with the same shared ambitions, the couple created an unusual haven in the heart of this green island, a place that seems suspended in time, whose beauty is never ostentatious—on the contrary, it seems entirely natural. The cosy, cocooning atmosphere at Île de la Lagune offers a wealth of small, welcoming, friendly spaces where you can gather with friends for a drink or just enjoy the view and atmosphere of the Pyrenees-Orientales.

A charming destination hotel

The hotel, which has become a destination, offers an intimate relaxing experience
with its panoramic thalassotherapy spa centre, amazing gourmet sensations at L’Almandin,
its restaurant, and above all, memories you’ll look back on fondly
with many personalized services.

The Pyrenees-Orientales region

The area, located at the base of the Pyrenees mountains, boasts a wealth of natural resources, with 214 km of coastline featuring fine sand and rocky shores, an inland area with rich with cultural heritage and history that will reveal the charm of the area’s sea and mountains in any season. There is no shortage of unusual places: with stunning the orgues rock formation in Ille, the cave of Notre Dame de Vie in Villefranche de Conflent, the authentic fishing village at étang Saint-Nazaire, and the megaliths in Bélesta, lovers of curiosities and unusual destinations will be delighted.

Testimonial from Marc and Jessica, “seekers of the atypical”

We’re always looking for destinations in France where we can satisfy our thirst for all things curious and unusual, whether it’s natural or architectural sites to visit or atypical accommodations. The Pyrenees-Orientales area is full of mysterious and unusual places, which are often very old. We chose the Île de la Lagune hotel to contrast with our visiting itinerary: it’s a very contemporary hotel with a modern design. Its location on a peninsula, surrounded by a lagoon, the private beach and its cosy garden give it a great personality: it’s a hotel that’s really got loads of charm!
